The CHHA-BC Youth Peer Support Program is pleased to announce an exciting new workshop on Saturday, November 2nd 10:00am to 3:30pm at the BC Children’s Hearing & Speech Centre of BC (3575 Kaslo Street Vancouver BC, Canada V5M 3H4).

Empowering Girls of Tomorrow, a free educational workshop, aims to teach young women and girls about two important aspects. The first is on self-protection and wellness including identifying types of abuse. The second portion will be an informational basic job rights introduction for those with disabilities. We will then have guest speakers share their inspiring career stories. This workshop is meant for hard of hearing girls and young women ages 13 to 21 years-old. CART and a free lunch will be provided, as well as time to network and ask questions.

10:20am Self-Protection: Identifying Abuse and Giving Yourself Love & Respect
11:20am Deaf Well-Being Program
12:35pm Light lunch, WBP booth, networking opportunities, photobooth.
1:35pm Career Education: Your Basic Workplace Rights
2:05pm Guest panellists share their stories
2:30pm Question and answer period
3:00pm Closing, Prizes, Thank Yous, Surveys
3:15pm Open space to allow for networking, questions and photos
3:30pm End of Event and Clean up

If you are interested, please fill out your information via the Google Forms Link below by October 25, 2019 at the latest. Please let us know about your accessibility needs, food allergies, and contact information. Parental consent is required to attend for those underage. Email confirmation will be sent once applications have been processed.
